Who I want to be

When people one day ask.

Why do I always mention him in most conversations?

I always look up to him, not because he is indestructible.

I look up to him because he always put himself last.

Because he always knows how to smile.

Because he excludes himself to include everyone.

Because he finds joy in the simplest of things.

Because he has his standards, and stand with them bravely.

Because he always finds a way to learn new things.

Because he knows how to differentiate between intelligence and wisdom.

Because he believes in peace, yet never stop fighting.

Because he can sacrifice himself without declaring it.

Because he knows how when to push, and when to support.

Because he is not there where he needs it, he is there when the others need it.

But most importantly,

Because he understands.

The burden.

The hardship.

The distress.

The strength needed to stand like us.

One day, I aspire to be like him.

To understand without saying a word.

To be there, without making a scene.

To infect smiles, without showing weakness.

To solve problems instead of showing problems.

To show instead of telling.

To be an example for my children.
